MOUNT NEMRUT TOUR FROM CAPPADOCIA ( 3 Days / 2 Nights )
Day 1:(Cappadocia, Kahramanmaraş, Adiyaman L,D)
We will pick you up from your hotel at 08.30 am and drive to
Karatayhan Caravanserai built in 13th century. Caravanserai was a roadside inn where travelers could rest and recover from the day's journey. Caravanserais supported the flow of commerce, information, and people across the network of trade routes covering Asia, North Africa, and southeastern Europe, especially along the Silk Road. After teh visitation of caravanserai we will drive to
Kahramanmaraş to have lunch and we will stop to taste the famous Turkish ice cream whisch is made from goat milk. Then, we will drive to Adıyaman to our hotel. Dinner will be in your hotel. Overnight accommodation will be in
Adıyaman.
Day 2:(Mount Nemrut, Ataturk Dam, Sanlıurfa, Harran B,L,D)
The tour will be start early this morning at 03.30am to climb to the
Mount Nemrut which is located on one of the important crossing points on the Upper
Euphrates valley, was constructed during reign of King Antiochus I, who ruled during the most prominent period of the Commegene Kingdom [163(?) or 80(?)BC – 72 AD]. We will climb up to summit to see
the best sunrise in the world and also huge statues . In 62 BC, King Antiochus I Theos of Commagene built on the mountain top a tomb-sanctuary flanked
by huge statues (8–9 m/26–30 ft high) of himself, two lions, two eagles and various Greek and
Persian gods, such as Hercules-Vahagn, Zeus-Aramazd or Oromasdes (associated with the Persian god Ahura Mazda), Tyche, and Apollo-Mithras.These statues were once seated, with names of each god inscribed on them. Whnw we are going down from the top of the mountain we will visit also
Arsemia Ancient city,
Cendere Bridge and
Karakus Tumulus. Then, we will go back to hotel to have breakfast. After the breakfast we will drive to Şanlıurfa. We will visit Göbeklitepe which is considered the oldest temple in the world and it is built 11,500 years ago. We will have lunch in Şanlıurfa. According to both the Bible and Quran Şanlıurfa is the
birthplace of Abraham before his migration to Canaan, now Palestine. Local Muslim legend differs from that of the other great monotheistic faiths by the intervention of one vicious and cruel King Nimrod, who had Abraham launched from a catapult from the city's citadel to fall into a pile of burning wood. Happily, God intervened, and turned the fire to water and the faggots to fish. We will visit the
the cave where Abraham was born and
mosque complex surrounding Abraham's Cave and
The Pool of Sacred Fish (Balikligöl) around it. Then we will drive to the
Old City Harran which is famous for its
conical-shaped local residences very near to Şanlıurfa We will also visit the
first Islamic University building in the world. After then, we will check in our hotel and have dinner. Overnight accommodation will be in
Şanlıurfa.
Day 3:(Sanlıurfa, Birecik, Cappadoci B,L)
After breakfast we will start our tour at 08.30 am and firstly we will visit Birecik which is famous for its bald-ibis (Kelaynak) birds. These birds are living only in Birecik in the world and there is a very limited population of them. We visit the breeding farm of Bald Ibis birds. After our lunch,. Then we will go back to Cappadocia but If you want we can drop you off to Gaziantep Airport to go to Istanbul.
